Last Night (01/08/07) - by Sukha

hot summer january night

twilight zone ishly

surprising me

as i step out into the

balmy palmy desertlike
saharalike

gobilike

unlike

santa monica

we should all be

wearing white

winter night

for no reason in particular

i feel

festive

we are

beautiful in the darkness

luminescent

twinkle lights strewn

along main street

i cross the street

open armed

”take me”

i whisper

breathlessly

into the loverlike

licking whipping wind

tickling

teasing

breezing

across my skin

awaken me

with clarity

the kind

you cannot see

feel me

in this

crackling dream

next to you

inside me

there are

secrets

at play

in the gusts

& whooshes

silent kisses

something

not altogether innocent

something howls& growls

& giggles

mysterious

curious

strange

there are barely

any cars on the street

at 6 in the evening

are we still on holiday

do you think?

yeah it still feels a little holidaylike

like an unplanned for

previously unheard of

holiday

but

it’s a little wierd

don’t you think?

the something mysterious

that i can’t put my finger but

know enough

to dance perfectly with -

it’s just a little too wierd

don’t you think?

the weather i mean

but

what do you expect

what with global warming

& all

what with 2012

just around

the bend

what with the whole

of seemingly everything

as we know it

as i know it

in such a sweeping

shift

i mean

is it just me?? or

is it

anchors away!!!

way in the middle

of something

so very much

on it’s way out

while so very much

making it’s way in

to what is now

the unknown

asked for

requested

called in

welcomed in

here i am

here we are

here it is

what you feared

what you prayed for

what you cannot control

what you don’t know about already

this is what it looks like

blowing

freak sneak sweet heat

electric with

change

the unexpected

rustles in the trees

brushes up against

my body

i am not scared

i like it

i want to know it better

intimately

i want to dance a little more

with what i don’t yet know...
